1970 – 2020 In Memoriam

It’s closing time…

STEVE KRAUSE

1970 – 2020

Journal entry by Rebecca Krause

So I can’t say what made me think of this last week, but for our wedding “Closing Time” was the final song of our wedding and it’s one that Steve picked out.  I can’t recall why, but he was insistent that would be the perfect way to wrap up the best (and in his words most expensive) party we would ever throw.  Maybe it’s the line “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end” but that is what we have now.  After an almost three-year fight, early this morning Steve left us here to start his next journey in heaven.  We have been fortunate enough to have a funeral parlor and church in town that can work with us even though part of the state is still locked down.  The services include:

Wake:

Larson-Nelson Funeral Home
1617 North Bridge Street
Yorkville, IL 60560
Sunday June 21 1:00pm to 7:00pm

Funeral Service:

Will begin at Nelson Funeral Home at 9am and proceed to
St. Patrick Parish
406 Walnut Street
Yorkville, IL 60560
Monday June 22 at 10:00am

Internment:

Assumption Catholic Cemetery
1S510 Winfield Road
Wheaton, IL

One of the traits that we loved about Steve was his passion.  He didn’t know how to half do something, he was all in and the best he could be at that.  While I know lots of folks want to help or send flowers, I encourage everyone to think about what they are passionate about and donate to that cause.  To support one of Steve’s passions you can look to:

  • Plainfield Rugby Football Club
  • USO of Illinois
